ACMAD is the Weather and Climate Centre with African continental competence. It was created in 1987 by the Conference of Ministers of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) and the World Meteorological Organisation (WMO). ACMAD has been operational in Niamey since 1992. ACMAD is composed of 53 Member States, the 53 countries of "Africa" continent.


SENAMHI is the Peruvian national meteorological and hydrological service.

The Physical Geography and Climatology Group of the RWTH Aachen University is led by Prof. Dr. Christoph Schneider. The group focuses on the understanding of cryospheric and atmosheric processes in alpine, polar and urban environments applying state of the art methods of measurement technology, climatology, glacier modelling and remote sensing.
